Tiktok is the fast-paced app that has taken the world by storm. With constant new content, songs and viral challenges, the world of TikTok is always moving and changing. We’re here to help with this month’s recap of what is trending in 3 separate (but related) categories: songs, trends, and branded hashtag challenges.
ROCKSTAR- DaBaby, Roddy Rich
DaBaby’s newest single, only released on April 17th, already has 562.7K videos using the sound as well as an original dance. The key to success here was a highly catchy song with lyrics that practically ask for a dance to be made with it.
Savage Remix- Meghan Thee Stallion featuring Beyonce
The song, which has all attributes of what makes a great TikTok song, inevitably also became a dance challenge. The hashtag #savageremixchallenge is decidedly more difficult than the original Savage dance challenge, yet still garnered an impressive 13.1 M views!

DJ Yames Mashup 6
This song incorporates an almost-iconic sound from a famous TikToker who plays a teacher that everyone had in elementary school. It’s used in lip synching, dancing and for showcasing incredibly-relatable tweets.
Leaving my Body (797.8K videos)
The Leaving my Body trend embodies sarcasm– showcasing how comments can’t fix internal problems, but sure do make for relatable tiktoks.
I’m happy now mom ##fyp♬ True Jackson VP theme – youalreadyknowbb
I’m only human (560.7K videos)
This trend is a perfect example of how older songs can become viral on TikTok. The song released in 2016, has become a trend on TikTok, predominantly showcasing defaults that everyone resorts to, like standing a certain way or having a certain behavior.
Laxed (Siren Beat dance challenge (35.6M videos)
This challenge garnered a serious amount of virality with an impressive 35.6 million videos! The challenge was unique in that, it was adopted globally. The reason why this dance challenge was so successful compared to others was that it is the easiest dance challenge yet on the app, encouraging maximum participation!
Album Cover Challenge (~800k videos)
The sound for this viral trend has a couple replicates, but aggregated they both equal roughly 800,000 videos! Participants of this trend use meme-like text usually starting out with “When” to relay its relatability. The creator then copies an album cover that is essentially the answer to the meme. This trend is easy for anyone to recreate and is highly creative.
Brand Hashtag Challenges:
Yoplait with #YoplaitCupRelay
The challenge with its own unique sound, challenges users to flip their Yoplait cups or any cups as fast as they can in a relay. The challenge, is also part of a social good initiative wherein Yoplait is pledging to donate $1 to Feeding America (up to $200,000) for each person that participates in the challenge. Notable creators enlisted for the challenge include Tyler Cameron from Bachelor Nation among others. The challenge garnered 1.6 billion views and the sound, almost 5,000 videos.
