Captiv8 Collegiate Partners with Purdue Athletics To Equip Student Athletes with Their Analytics to Support NIL Initiatives

Captiv8 Collegiate x Purdue NIL

Captiv8 welcomes the Purdue Boilermakers as their newest partner under the Captiv8 Collegiate department. Now approaching two years since NIL’s passing, Captiv8 Collegiate continues to grow as it provides a platform solution, resources, consultation, and opportunities for student-athletes and athletics administrators.

Purdue Athletics will utilize the Captiv8 platform for its discovery capabilities and gain further insight into the social media performance of all Purdue student-athletes and incoming recruits. Through Captiv8’s first-party data, Purdue student-athletes will be able to access performance metrics and audience data. Along with custom curriculum, in-person programming, and virtual office hours, the Captiv8 team will be an addition to Purdue’s resources supporting NIL for its student-athletes.

Coming off of an exhilarating season, Purdue Men’s Basketball student-athletes saw an average 26% increase in follower growth on their personal Instagram profiles between November and April. They also boast an impressive average engagement rate of 15.36% on Instagram across the squad, more than 5x the benchmark of standard influencers. Based on a study Captiv8 published last July, the Boilermaker men’s hoops squad as a group almost doubles the average (7.95%) for other collegiate men’s basketball creators. “We’re so excited to welcome the Boilermakers to the Captiv8 Collegiate family. Closing in on year two of NIL, we’ve been noticing the need to access data and insights around student-athletes to further advocate as to why it’s beneficial for brands to partner with them,” said Noveen Moinpour, Associate Director of Business Strategy and Success, Captiv8. “Not only are we equipping student-athletes with knowledge surrounding their social performance, we’re helping them advocate for themselves when potential opportunities arise. We want them to think the way marketers do. Through partnerships like what we’re doing with Purdue, we’re able to help better equip the next generation of athlete creators.”

The Purdue Boilermakers, an NCAA Division I athletics department and member of the Big Ten Conference, are proud representatives of Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana. The university has long stood for innovation and progress, with many Purdue students and faculty contributing to a vibrant scientific community that values discovery and exploration based in science and mathematics as expressed through engineering and math. Notably, Purdue University’s actuarial science program has long been considered the No. 1 program in the country.

“Our continual focus at Purdue has been on providing a first-class student-athlete experience, especially in the ever-changing Name, Image and Likeness space,” said Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Operating Officer Ken Halpin. “Captiv8’s technology will give accurate brand value metrics and reach analysis to our student-athletes, helping them best understand their influence to make informed decisions.”

Captiv8 Collegiate launched in 2021 as a response to the major changes to collegiate name, image, and likeness (NIL) regulations with the goal to help educate student-athletes on how to effectively manage their personal social-media brands and partnerships. Complete with a program developed specifically for student-athletes, Captiv8 Collegiate utilizes its award-winning expertise in creator marketing into the newly ever-developing NIL landscape.

With 18 sports programs, the Purdue Athletics Department maintains a vision within a culture of integrity and inclusion that empowers each Boilermaker student-athlete to achieve academic success, triumph athletically, and master leadership behaviors that enhance the pride and reputation of the University.

Purdue Athletics’ mission is to develop champions, advance academic success, strengthen leadership capabilities, and promote positive student-athlete well-being. Above all, Boilermakers possess the courage to lead positively in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.
